We have released Zenith 0.6.0.0-beta, the next deliverable of our work of creating a user-friendly, full-node wallet for the Zebra Zcash node.
This release adds our Graphical User Interface to the wallet, providing a user experience that is smoother and more familiar to users of light-client wallets, like QR codes for sharing addresses. This interface is written entirely in Haskell, eliminating the need for large Javascript-based frameworks to be bundled with the app, and allowing us to leverage all the features in our Zcash-Haskell library.
As part of our roadmap, we have added an address book to help users save and manage Zcash addresses. This feature is enabled in our Text User Interface and will be rolled out in the GUI on our next release. We have also added a Docker image to ease the installation process of the app.
Our focus now turns to building the RPC server that will enable other app developers to interact with the wallet programmatically, opening up many opportunities for the ecosystem to migrate to the Zebra node.
